For adding a custom field in Vtiger 7, these are the steps to be followed:
)There are so many modules in Vtiger CRM 7 like Organizations, Opportunities, Assets, Tickets, Leads, etc. Lets take an example that we want to add a custom field “Lead Type” in Lead module.
)For that ,first we need to go to Leads module. After going to Leads module, We can see a Button named “Customize” at the right-top corner. On clicking that ,a dropdown will appear. Then select “Leads Fields & Layout” option.
)After clicking on “Leads Fields & Layout” option, a layout editor page will get open. Here we can add custom field.
)For creating a custom field, click on “Add Custom Field” button. A pop-up will appear asking for details of the field like field name, field type, default value, etc.
)Now fill out all the details for the custom field. Here our label name (field name) is ‘Lead Type’, Field Type is ‘Text’, lets take length =50, Default value is empty. Now if you want to make the field as mandatory, mark it as Mandatory Field. Fill the other options according to your requirement.
)Then save it. Now our custom field “Lead Type” has been created.
)You can notice that the options that we chose in step-5 (Mandatory, Quick create, Mass edit) are all available here. And the ones that we didn’t choose are not available.
)Now when you will create a lead, you will notice that one more field (Lead Type) has been added in Leads Module.
)Apart from adding custom field, we can also add custom block. That is we can create an entire new block consisting of new custom fields. For that we need to click on “Add Block” button.
)A pop-up will appear. Write down “Block Name” and then “Add after”. “Add after” means that after which block you want to place this new block.
)Then save the block. A new custom block will get added after “Lead details” block.
)In this new block, we can further create new custom fields by clicking “Add Custom field” button for that particular block.
)In case you want to delete this block, then you can do it by changing the value of “Collapse Block” button to ‘Yes’.
